Care Sector Compliance and Consultancy – what can I tell you?

I have been the Registered manager at Ostley House since 2009 and I have always used Stuart Winward for all our Training requirements. Stuart is, without a doubt, the most knowledgeable person I have ever come across in the Social Care Sector, his passion for improving this sector is evident for all to see.

Care Sector Compliance and Consultancy provides an excellent, knowledgeable, friendly service that is vital to our home. Being a stand alone home, at times the role of Registered Manager leaves me feeling very vulnerable and isolated, with nowhere to turn to for advice and/or guidance. Not any more!

Whatever query or concern I have I know that Stuart can provide me with the answers/ solutions instantly. Over the years I have received assistance with almost every area of our service. We added a dementia village to our home in 2019, as far as I am aware this is the first one in the country for those with a dual diagnosis of dementia and visual impairment. Stuart’s vast knowledge was invaluable here, in making sure the village provided all that we expected from it. I think our Chief Exec become tired of my answer to every problem we came across, which was usually “I’ll ask Stuart”

Every area of compliance, even when I am confident with my approach, I will always check in with Stuart first, as he always things of everything and ensures we have everything covered.

At the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Stuart was amazing. We all found ourselves in unknown territory, yet still, any questions I had, Stuart had the answers! We planned well for the coming times. We never run short of PPE as we planned in advance and Stuart guided me through all we needed to do to keep those in our care safe. Stuart also ensured that all systems and procedures were in place.

During these worrying times, I would talk to Stuart at great length, on a daily basis. He gave me the knowledge, the practical advice and the confidence to lead my team through the hardest times I have experienced within my social care career.

Stuart has also proved invaluable with contracts, staff hand books and HR issues and guidance. 

Stuart has without a shadow of a doubt enhanced my knowledge and my ability to perform within my role. Our home is definitely a better place because of him!!

I have known and worked with Stuart and his team for many years now.
I have completed my moving and handling train the trainer update with him annual for a long time. Alongside this I have also completed other train the trainer courses in things like medication training and safeguarding. I have always found his courses to be relevant, up to date, informative and primarily down to earth and interactive.
I cannot praise his ‘aftercare’ enough. He makes himself available for any queries or concerns I have with any problems that arise and has worked with me to feel confident to make my decisions.
The courses he offers are very bespoke to my industry and he has trained many of my staff in such things as dementia, support plan writing and risk assessing. Stuart Winward has been associated with our organisation local Solutions since 2003. They provide our company with an excellent range of Moving & Handling Training at various Branches in the North West to all levels of staff, including Induction, and refresher sessions thought they year. Stuart has creates bespoke courses for more complex handling training and also advanced risk assessment training.

I attended a Moving and Handling course with Stuart aimed at complex care packages. Throughout the course we were able to identify/demonstrate different types of equipment used to support customers to transfer. This was to enable them to live at home with required support/equipment. Stuart delivered a very informative training session that included: case studies, questionnaires and practical elements which made sure everyone was involved in using complex moving and handling equipment.
Stuart also invited an Occupational Therapist along to the training session, who had brought moving and handling equipment used by the Local Authority. Included in the training was team work exercises and an opportunity for “Question & Answer”.
Stuart’s training session has helped me further develop in my role as it was very in depth and the course was very interesting/informative.
